According to ТСН: As of the morning of January 1, 2026, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have eliminated 1,208,970 soldiers of the Russian Federation. Over the past day, another 1,060 military personnel were destroyed in the fight against the aggressor.

This was reported by the General Staff.

General combat losses of the opponent

Since the beginning of the conflict (from 24.02.22 to 01.01.26), total losses are estimated as follows:

  • personnel — approximately 1,208,970 (+1,060) individuals

  • tanks — 11,488 (+7)

  • armored combat vehicles — 23,849 (+4)

  • artillery systems — 35,678 (+36)

  • multiple launch rocket systems — 1,587 (+1)

  • air defense systems — 1,266

  • airplanes — 434

  • helicopters — 347

  • operational-tactical UAVs — 98,453 (+769)

  • cruise missiles — 4,136

  • ships/boats — 28

  • submarines — 2

  • automotive and fuel tankers — 72,418 (+171)

  • special equipment — 4,035

According to the BBC report, Russia's losses have been rising at a record pace over the past 10 months of 2025. Experts estimate that confirmed data account for 45-65% of the actual losses.

This data highlights the scale of losses that Russia has suffered as a result of military actions. The Ukrainian side continues efforts to defend its territory and develop combat potential.
