For what purpose is Russia recruiting African women? Details from the Associated Press.
At a drone manufacturing plant in Russia, about 200 African women work. The invitation for them was posted on social networks. Women were promised free flights, financial assistance, and trips to Europe if they passed a test on Russian language proficiency. However, upon arrival in Tatarstan, they found out that their job would involve assembling Iranian drones.
According to the investigation, Russian manufacturers are recruiting women from East Africa and some countries in Asia and Latin America. They are aged between 18 and 22. The women work alongside Russian students, who are no older than 16. They live in dormitories and work 12-hour days. Moreover, their salary turned out to be much lower than promised.
It is worth noting that Russia is developing new unmanned aerial vehicles. In particular, the production of a long-range strike drone named "Harpy-A1" has already started. Additionally, the Ukrainian group "Dnipro" is working on a strike-transport drone "Perun," which can carry up to 200 kg of cargo.
Russian companies are also developing new drones for combat operations. These include an "armor-piercing" version of the S-8 "NAR" aviation rocket for strikes on armored vehicles, as well as a foam drone IRT-Scout with a maximum speed of 90 km/h and a range of 50 km.
