Ukraine to Raise Salary Threshold for Reserved Workers to 21,617 Hryvnias in 2026.
Revised Minimum Salary for Reserved Employees
According to Novyny.live: Starting in January 2026, Ukraine will increase the minimum monthly salary for workers with draft deferrals to 21,617 hryvnias. This adjustment represents a significant move to support employees who are exempt from military conscription. The previous threshold was set at 20,000 hryvnias. This policy is part of broader economic measures during a period of national mobilization.
Bolstering Critical Industries
Under the new regulations, energy and utility sector workers will receive 100% deferral from mobilization, highlighting the crucial role their work plays in maintaining national stability. The decision aims to provide adequate support for these key infrastructure sectors. Ukraine's reliance on these workers has intensified since the full-scale invasion began in 2022.
Furthermore, the 'Reserve+' application has introduced new features, including the capability to send notifications about paper-based draft summonses. This update is designed to increase citizens' awareness of their conscription status and ensure greater transparency in the mobilization process.
Raising the minimum wage for reserved employees may positively impact motivation within vital sectors like energy and utilities. It also reflects government efforts to ensure stability and support for essential industries during a challenging period for the country.
The use of new functions in the 'Reserve+' app could improve communication between the state and its citizens, which is important for transparent mobilization procedures and for building trust in public institutions.
