Operations of Ukraine's Defense Forces

According to UATV: On March 5, 2026, Ukraine's Defense Forces continued their active campaign against the invading Russian military. In the past day alone, Ukrainian units successfully eliminated:

  • 900 Russian military personnel;
  • approximately 2,000 unmanned aerial vehicles (drones);
  • over 40 artillery systems.

Since the full-scale invasion began on February 24, 2022, the total personnel losses for the Russian forces have now reached 1,270,400. These casualty figures, while difficult to verify independently, are widely cited by Ukrainian officials and represent a significant drain on Russian manpower.

  • 24,142 armored combat vehicles;
  • 37,915 artillery systems;

  • 4,079 units of special equipment.

In the course of combat operations, the liberation of over 250 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory has been confirmed. These statistics highlight the substantial successes achieved by Ukraine's Defense Forces in resisting the aggressor.

This report underscores the ongoing intensity of fighting along the Ukrainian front and points to the severe attrition suffered by Russian forces. Shifts on the battlefield are likely to influence the strategic calculations of both sides, as well as the level of international support for Ukraine. The noted progress in reclaiming territory may create new opportunities to regain control over lost areas and strengthen defensive positions for future operations.
