Ukrenergo owes UAH 15.3 billion: what it means for tariffs.
According to inkorr.com: According to the latest data, the company 'Ukrenergo' has a debt of UAH 15.3 billion to 'Guaranteed Buyer'. Mutual settlements between these structures are not currently conducted in full, which leads to financial problems, noted the head of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine.
As of today, the debt of the 'Guaranteed Buyer' to electricity producers has decreased to approximately UAH 22 billion. The situation is gradually improving; however, the issue of debt has not been fully resolved yet, the expert emphasized.
Debt repayment and new tariffs
At the beginning of 2025, Law No. 4213-IX was adopted, which provides for the use of UAH 10.7 billion saved by 'Ukrenergo' on dispatching in 2023 for repaying debts to electricity producers. Additionally, a new transmission tariff has been approved, which amounts to UAH 686.23/MWh excluding VAT, which is 30% more than last year.
While 'Ukrenergo' is working on reducing debts to producers, monitoring the situation in this regard remains an important task for Ukraine's energy sector.
Thus, the issue of debt in Ukraine’s energy sector continues to be relevant. Despite gradual positive changes, the financial stability of companies requires constant attention and effective solutions to ensure the proper functioning of the electricity market.
