Saint, was killed on September 25, 2025, as reported by
Glavkom, citing the Rivne City Council.
Roman Holodnyak was born on July 11, 1978, in the village of Korosno, Lviv region. He obtained his education at a local school and also trained as a carpenter in the Peremyshlyany vocational college. He later graduated from the Diakivsky Regental Institute of the Ivan Frankivsk Academy of John Chrysostom.
Roman was deeply devoted to God and people, supporting communities through prayer and assistance throughout his life.
Fighter for the Independence of Ukraine
In 2024, he decided to join the army to protect Ukraine's independence from Russian occupiers. Roman participated in defending the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk directions as part of the 125th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. His comrades gave him the call sign
Saintfor his loyalty and dedicated service.
The defender was buried on October 3, 2025, in the field of honorary burials of the modern Heroes at Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv.
Roman Holodnyak left behind a widow, a son, and a daughter.
