New subsidized mortgage program for combatants and disabled defenders

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine has launched a new subsidized mortgage program offering an annual interest rate of 3% for combat veterans and defenders with disabilities. This initiative aims to improve housing conditions for those who, after returning from service, are forced to rent apartments or live with relatives. The program includes specific eligibility criteria and restrictions on the type of property that can be purchased.

Property requirements and loan application process

What are the property requirements? First, the housing must not be older than 50 years. For renovated properties, the maximum age since reconstruction cannot exceed 35 years. Additionally, the property must meet certain size limits:

  • For a single person, a maximum of 52.5 square meters is financed;
  • For each additional family member, an extra 21 square meters is allowed;
  • The housing must be no smaller than 13.65 square meters per person.

Who might be denied a loan? Requirements for obtaining the mortgage include being on an official housing waiting list and having a documented 'white' salary. Furthermore, individuals who have previously received state housing benefits may be excluded from participating in the program.

How to apply? The loan application process involves registering on the Derzhmolodzhytlo platform, which allows for property searches, as well as collecting and submitting the necessary documents. Loan repayments can be spread over up to 30 years, with the initial down payment starting at 6% of the property's value. This initiative is designed to support those who have dedicated themselves to defending the country, giving them the opportunity to create comfortable living conditions.

The introduction of this subsidized mortgage for combat veterans represents a significant step in strengthening social protections for veterans in need of better housing. This program could also stimulate the real estate market by boosting demand for new and renovated homes. As a result, the implementation of this initiative may bring both social and economic benefits to society as a whole.
