Strengthening Ties: A New Defense Partnership Between Ukraine and Qatar
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in Doha on March 28, where both leaders committed to a defense partnership lasting at least a decade. Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani also attended the talks.
During the discussions, a formal agreement was signed between the chiefs of staff of both nations, outlining joint initiatives in the defense industry and technology collaborations. Zelenskyy commented on the outcome:
'We discussed how to better protect lives in our countries and agreed on a mutually beneficial defense partnership for no less than ten years.' Volodymyr Zelenskyy
The Ukrainian leader highlighted the urgent need to bolster air defense systems and expressed hope for continued support from international partners:
