According to Novyny.live: On the occasion of Ukraine's Constitution Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed decrees granting state honors to 451 individuals, including nine service members who received the title of Hero of Ukraine. This annual recognition, celebrated on June 28, highlights the bravery of both military personnel and law enforcement officers.

Eight of the nine newly named Heroes of Ukraine were awarded posthumously, underscoring their ultimate sacrifice while serving the nation. The list includes police officers, military officers, and soldiers, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of those honored.

The following individuals were awarded the Hero of Ukraine title:

  • Senior Police Lieutenant Roman Zelenskyy
  • Senior Police Sergeant Yurii Illiashenko
  • Police Major Oleksandr Kuralekh
  • Lieutenant Andrii Markiv
  • Captain Oleh Hrama
  • Lieutenant Serhii Matviievskyi
  • Captain Vladyslav Shapoval
  • Senior Lieutenant Arsen Yurchenko
  • Senior Soldier Ihor Hryban

Eight of these nine were recognized posthumously.

In total, over 450 defenders of Ukraine received state awards, with 203 of those granted posthumously—a testament to their profound commitment to the country's security. Among the honorees were TV presenter Andrii Bedniakov, who received the Order of Merit, Third Class, as well as musician Mykhailo Klymenko and People's Artist of Ukraine Stepan Hiha, both awarded posthumously.

President Zelenskyy also announced the establishment of a new state honor—the Order of Europe—signaling the government's intent to recognize achievements across various fields. This initiative aims to further encourage citizens to contribute to the nation's development and uphold its values.
