Zelensky spoke with Macron about defense support and the deployment of partner contingents in Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a telephone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron. They discussed military support for Ukraine and the deployment of a global partner contingent. Zelensky himself reported this.

According to the president, the conversation with Macron was detailed and lengthy. Various forms of defense support for Ukraine were discussed. Investments in the procurement of weapons and the deployment of military contingents of partners were also discussed.

The presidents also discussed the situation at the front and the successes of the Ukrainian troops in the Kursk operation.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to Macron and the French people for their support, which contributes to saving lives and promoting peace and stability in Europe.

«We also agreed on close cooperation with key allies to achieve peace and develop effective security guarantees. We considered the French initiative regarding the deployment of military contingents in Ukraine and discussed practical steps for its implementation and the involvement of other countries in this process», the statement said.

Earlier, Zelensky discussed the humanitarian crisis in Transnistria with President of Moldova Maia Sandu.
