Yevhen Karmazin: A Life in Journalism and a Lasting Legacy
According to UATV: On October 23, 2025, Yevhen Karmazin, a 33-year-old television camera operator from Kramatorsk, lost his life in a Russian attack carried out by a 'Lancet' drone. A respected journalist, he was known for documenting the war and actively assisting civilians throughout the conflict.
Karmazin studied at the Donbas State Machine-Building Academy. After Kramatorsk was liberated in 2014, he began his career with the DoTeBe channel. In 2021, he worked as an operator for the FREEДОМ multimedia platform, where his core team included:

A farewell ceremony for Karmazin took place in Kyiv on October 27, 2025. His colleague Vladyslav Bobrun recalled:
“Zhenya and I produced the president's live broadcast when he took office.” - Vladyslav Bobrun
Bobrun also noted that despite his own heavy workload, Karmazin always made time to help others: “I knew he had plenty of his own worries, but he still helped.”
Another colleague, Svitlana Sulakova, emphasized Karmazin's kindness: “When you think of Yevhen, the thought that comes to mind is that you won't meet a kinder person anywhere in the world.” Oleksandr Kolychev, recalling shared moments, added: “We joked about it, driving along and laughing.”
