This high-level meeting underscores the strengthening defense partnership between Ukraine and Britain as the war continues.
Key Outcomes of the Zelensky–Burnham Summit
The discussions focused on bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities and expanding joint military production. Zelensky stressed the urgent need for advanced technologies to protect Ukrainian skies and waters, expressing gratitude for Britain’s decision to supply electronic warfare (EW) systems that will shield Ukrainian drones. He called this a powerful show of solidarity.
“The Prime Minister assured that this support remains steadfast,” Zelensky stated.
During his visit, Zelensky also met with Ukrainian troops who had taken part in the Sea Breeze exercises. Among the collaborative projects reviewed was a long-range missile being developed jointly by the UK and Germany, with a target completion date of 2034.
Zelensky extended an invitation to Prime Minister Burnham to visit Ukraine, highlighting that the full-scale war has forged the strongest bilateral ties in the history of Ukrainian–British cooperation.
