Zelensky awarded Special Operations Forces soldiers and discussed energy security of Kharkiv region.

Zelensky congratulated the soldiers of the Special Operations Forces on SOF Day

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited the advanced command post of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv direction on the occasion of SOF Day. The head of state congratulated the soldiers on the holiday and presented them with state awards.

Zelensky thanked the SOF soldiers for their heroic operations both behind enemy lines and during the defense and de-occupation of Ukrainian territories. He recalled their participation in the defense of Donetsk airport in 2014, operations in Hostomel, Kherson and Kharkiv regions.

The president awarded two soldiers the title of Hero of Ukraine, and the 142nd SOF training center was awarded the honorary name "named after General-Horunzhyi Vsevolod Zmiienko".

SOF Commander Oleksandr Trepak reported on the strategy for SOF development and their tasks, including psychological operations, resistance movement in occupied territories, and special forces actions.

Zelensky held a meeting on the security and energy situation in Kharkiv

During his visit to Kharkiv, Zelensky held a meeting on the security and energy situation in the region. The preparation for the heating season and the plan to protect the sky of Kharkiv were discussed.

Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleh Syniehubov and Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov informed about the preparation for the autumn-winter period. According to Terekhov, 22 cogeneration plants and 31 modular boiler plants have already been installed in the city, but the total need is more than 140 facilities to provide 340 MW of energy.
