Ukrainian President’s Concerns

According to UATV: Volodymyr Zelensky has voiced fears that a prolonged war in the Middle East could lead to a reduction in military aid for Ukraine. Speaking with reporters, he confirmed that Ukraine stands ready to assist the United States and its allies in the region.

Zelensky highlighted that Ukraine has built an effective system for countering Iranian attack drones, showcasing its capacity for collaboration. He also stressed that risks involving missiles and air defense systems remain paramount for his country.

'Missiles and air defense—these are the two main risks for us. We would very much like to avoid the U.S. stepping away from Ukraine’s issues because of the Middle East,' Zelensky stated.

Hoping for Continued U.S. Support

The president expressed optimism that the situation in the Middle East would not prevent the United States from staying engaged with the war in Ukraine:

'We are demonstrating this as a fact. It means we very much hope that because of the Middle East, the U.S. will not withdraw from the issue of the war in Ukraine,' he added.

Zelensky’s remarks underscore the critical importance of international backing for Ukraine amid its ongoing war with Russia. They also reflect Kyiv’s anxiety over potential shifts in U.S. foreign policy triggered by new crises elsewhere. In this context, American support remains vital for Ukraine’s security, especially as threats from Russia continue to escalate.
