Russian Army Casualties

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that Russia is suffering severe military casualties, with monthly losses ranging from 30,000 to 35,000 personnel. These staggering figures are hampering Moscow's ability to mobilize and train new troops. According to Zelenskyy, Russia is failing to recruit enough soldiers through mobilization or sign a sufficient number of new contracts to replace its losses.

Zelenskyy emphasized that financial resources are crucial for Russia to secure new military contracts.

“Why do we react so sensitively to the lifting of sanctions? Because it's about money. And money isn't just tanks,” he stressed.
This highlights how economic assets are central to sustaining Russia's war effort.

Future Casualty Projections

Ruslan Horbenko, a drone unit commander with the call sign 'Dviyeshnyk' from the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade's unmanned systems battalion, predicts that Russia will face even higher losses in the coming years. He estimates that within the next two years, the country will lose at least 1.5 million soldiers, a figure that could drastically undermine its military capabilities.

As a result, the frontline situation remains dire, and the heavy toll on Russian forces poses a serious challenge for the country's military leadership, which is struggling with mobilization and replenishing its ranks.

The loss of such a large number of troops in Russia could have far-reaching consequences, not only for its military strength but also for its domestic politics. Difficulties with mobilization and funding may fuel public discontent and erode support for the war. Moreover, projections of continued heavy losses could push the Kremlin to reconsider its conflict strategies, potentially altering the overall trajectory of the situation in the region.
