Meeting of Zelensky with the President of Romania
On Tuesday, August 12, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone conversation with the President of Romania, Nicolae Ciucă. The leaders discussed steps towards ending the full-scale war and achieving peace.
President Zelensky noted that preparations are underway for important contacts scheduled for tomorrow, August 13. The head of state thanked Nicolae Ciucă and all EU leaders for today’s statement on the clear support for Ukraine's independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.
Zelensky also stated that the first step towards a fair peace must be a cease-fire. If Russia is not ready to stop the killings, there must be sanctions on its economy that will force it to do so.
The head of the Ukrainian state concluded that he is expecting the arrival of the President of Romania in Ukraine, and teams are already working on the details.
Support for Ukraine from Romania
It should be reminded that recently Volodymyr Zelensky met in Ukraine with the head of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ukrainian drivers are also being turned back at the border with Romania, and a new requirement was introduced.
After the phone conversation between the Presidents of Ukraine and Romania, steps towards ending the war and creating peace are being discussed.
