Ukraine Establishes Unmanned Systems Forces Day as President Confirms Long-Range Sanctions Plan Is Fully Implemented.
New Holiday Marks Creation of Unmanned Systems Branch
According to UATV: On June 10, 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the completion of Ukraine's long-range sanctions strategy and signed a decree establishing the Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces, to be observed annually on June 11. He also provided updates on Ukrainian military achievements in the war against Russia, noting that since the formation of the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) unit, strikes have been carried out against Russian targets valued at approximately $40 billion. This announcement comes as Ukraine continues to develop advanced military capabilities in response to ongoing aggression.
During his address, Zelenskyy stated that
“the plan for Ukrainian long-range sanctions is being executed with absolute precision.”He further emphasized that
“for the first time in the world, it is in Ukraine that we have created such a branch of the military.”Topics discussed included 'midstrikes' and 'deepstrikes,' which are currently in the implementation phase. 'A productive summit has just taken place with NB8 and Ukraine, as well as with E3 and Ukraine,' he added, highlighting the importance of international support.
Ukraine’s Key Priorities
Zelenskyy also outlined three priorities for Ukraine:
- air defense systems
- energy infrastructure
- intensified diplomatic efforts
He referenced key upcoming summer summits, including the EU summit, the G7 summit, and the NATO summit, stressing that 'each of these platforms must deliver results for Ukraine.'
These developments occur on the 1,568th day of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a conflict now spanning over four years. A crucial element of the resistance includes military strikes on Russian facilities—for instance, Ukrainian 'Flamingo' missiles recently hit a military factory in Cheboksary, located 900 kilometers from Ukraine. Such actions underscore Ukraine’s efforts to counter aggression and bolster its own security.
The establishment of the Unmanned Systems Forces Day and progress on the long-range sanctions plan reflect an intensification of Ukraine’s military strategy amid ongoing hostilities. The creation of new military branches and a focus on international support highlight the growing role of modern technology in warfare. These steps could lay the groundwork for further strengthening the country’s defense capabilities and demonstrate readiness to face emerging challenges. The upcoming high-level summits may also play a pivotal role in building an international coalition to support Ukraine.
