Zelensky on abducted children: what is known about more than 20 thousand Ukrainian children.
The return of abducted children is the most important issue for Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasizes that the return of children abducted by Russia is the most painful and complicated issue for Ukraine. He stated this during a meeting, referring to The Rosenberg Report.
"The most sensitive and problematic issue is our Ukrainian children abducted by the Russian Federation," the president stressed.
According to him, there are currently over 20 thousand documented cases of abducted children, but this is only the documented cases. He also noted that the Russian side alters the children's documents and tries to hide their origins, forcing them to participate in military actions against Ukraine.
International actions in response to the situation
First Lady of the United States Melania Trump addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the abducted Ukrainian children during a summit in Alaska, where her husband, Donald Trump, met with the Russian leader.
"Let us remind you that cyber experts from the Main Intelligence Directorate gained access to the lists of children that the Russians abducted from temporarily uncontrolled territories of Ukraine," the president added.
Russia continues to commit crimes against Ukrainian children, holding up to 1.6 million minors under control. There is even an online catalog where Ukrainian children are 'sold'.
The issue of returning abducted children has become central in the speeches of both President Zelensky and First Lady of the United States Melania Trump during meetings with Russian leaders. This only confirms the seriousness of the problem that requires international resolution.
