Zelensky on the protection of Kyiv: why CHPP-5 and CHPP-6 are vulnerable to attacks.
According to inkorr.com: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, emphasized the importance of improving the protection of Kyiv's energy infrastructure, particularly CHPP-5 and CHPP-6. He noted that some facilities are so large that standard protective structures or air defense systems may not cope with their protection.
I am not satisfied if we take, for example, Kyiv, there are CHPP-5, CHPP-6. After all, the issue is not only in air defense. We cannot use Patriot missiles against drones. What questions can there be for the mayor? These are municipal enterprises of Kyiv, right? I could now tell you what I think about all this. But…
The necessity of active actions
Zelensky also noted that it is important to intensify efforts to protect key facilities. If local authorities or the private sector do not respond to threats, the resolution of this issue should move to the state level.
Attacks on energy infrastructure
Recall that recently Russian troops carried out attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure using drones and missiles. The President emphasized the relevance of the threat from Russia and the importance of preparing citizens for possible dangers.
Call to Kyiv residents
The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, called on the capital's residents to remain calm and prepare for possible difficulties, including stocking up on water and food, preparing a first aid kit, and charging autonomous power devices.
The President and the Mayor of Kyiv emphasize the need to be ready for potential attacks on energy infrastructure and threats from Russia.
The situation in Ukraine remains tense, and the authorities are working to strengthen security amid constant threats. Citizens are advised to follow safety measures and prepare for possible difficulties related to attacks on energy. The joint responsibility of all levels of government and society for the protection of the country during these difficult times remains relevant.
