According to TSN.ua: During a meeting focused on the nation's energy situation, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a strategic shift in how Ukraine counters Russian strikes using Iranian-made 'Shahed' drones. The Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force briefed the meeting on the existing drone defense system, which is designed to respond to threats posed by these unmanned aerial vehicles.
Energy Crisis: Regions Facing the Most Severe Challenges
President Zelenskyy also highlighted the regions currently confronting the most difficult energy circumstances. These areas include:
- Kyiv
- Bila Tserkva
- Vasylkiv
- Boryspil
- Kharkiv
- Zaporizhzhia
- Dnipro
- Kryvyi Rih
- Chernihiv
- Sumy region
- Odesa
To improve the situation in the capital, Kyiv, additional repair crews from other regions have been deployed. These drones have been a persistent threat to Ukraine's critical infrastructure, particularly its power grid.
It was noted that Mykhailo Fedorov is the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine. Regarding energy security, the president stated,
"The determined volumes of supply will be maintained"— Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In a separate security development, anti-tank mines were discovered near railway tracks in the Rivne region, indicating the ongoing threat posed by Russian forces.
