Zelensky on US military aid

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reported that military aid from the United States continues to arrive unchanged. He made this statement during a press conference with the President of Moldova Maia Sandu.

«I know that there are restrictions on humanitarian programs lasting 90 days. I also know that some institutions around the world have received support from the US government. As for Ukraine, I can say that it is not receiving less military aid, and that is very good», - emphasized Zelensky.

According to The New York Times, the Department of Homeland Security has suspended several immigration programs, including U4U, which has been used by over 150,000 Ukrainians by September 2023.

It has been reported that the Pentagon plans to include military support in a new directive, however, the government confirmed that this does not affect military aid. Key support programs for Ukraine, such as PDA and USAI, continue to operate as usual.

US Position on Russia

It should be noted that the US State Department continues to hold its position regarding Russia. The agency believes that the imposition of broad sanctions is a more effective way to influence Putin's regime than recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

It is worth mentioning that the new Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated the necessity of ending the war in Ukraine. He emphasized that both sides of the conflict should make compromises, but also acknowledged that Russia is the aggressor.

During the Senate hearings, Rubio also highlighted the importance of a realistic approach to resolving the conflict. He noted that Russia cannot capture the entire territory of Ukraine, but at the same Time considers complete restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity through military force unrealistic.
