Zelensky commented on the halt of Russian gas transit to Europe.
Ukraine has completely stopped the transit of Russian gas to Europe. President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that this has become a major defeat for Moscow in the energy market. He noted that when Vladimir Putin was given power in Russia more than 25 years ago, over 130 billion cubic meters of gas were pumped through Ukraine annually. And today, the transit of Russian gas is zero.
The president explained that using gas as a weapon and energy blackmail has led to Russia losing its most attractive and geographically accessible market. Zelensky also stated that most European countries have successfully adapted to the new conditions.
Congratulations to Moldova and hopes for increased American gas supplies
The president congratulated Moldova on its energy transformation and expressed hope for increased American gas supplies to Europe. According to him, the more gas available in the market from genuine partners of Europe, the quicker the last remnants of European energy dependence on Russia will be overcome.
