At Chișinău Airport, Zelenskyy Holds Talks with U.S. Officials.
Zelenskyy’s Conversation with U.S. Representatives
According to Espreso.tv: Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that he held a discussion with representatives of the U.S. president during a stopover at Chișinău Airport. The conversation centered on diplomatic efforts aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine. The Ukrainian leader stressed the significance of this exchange in light of the upcoming G7 summit and other events scheduled for June.
“A very positive conversation. I am grateful for the willingness to work as actively as possible in the coming weeks to give momentum to diplomacy aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.”

Zelenskyy acknowledged that much of the world’s attention is currently focused on the situation involving Iran, but he maintained that the issue of peace in Europe remains a top priority.
The president also expressed gratitude for the respect shown toward Ukrainians and the positive assessment of Ukraine’s stance:
“Thank you, America! Thank you, Moldova, for your hospitality.”

It is worth noting that on May 8, Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov met with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in the United States—another sign of active diplomacy in U.S.-Ukraine relations.
The Importance of Diplomatic Efforts
This conversation highlights Ukraine’s intensified diplomatic outreach on the global stage, particularly as preparations for the G7 summit move forward. Engaging the United States and other international partners in resolving the conflict with Russia could be a critical step for Ukraine in its pursuit of peace. Cooperation with Moldova and other regional states also has the potential to strengthen Ukraine’s position in broader international negotiations.
