According to UATV: On June 1, 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky convened a session of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Staff to address critical measures for boosting the combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), equipping troops with weaponry, and reinforcing air defense capabilities. Key topics included the implementation of decisions aimed at improving the efficiency of the Ukrainian army and ensuring it has the necessary resources. This meeting occurs amid ongoing efforts to counter Russian aggression and secure international military support.
During the session, it was reported that 160 military units are now receiving stable, guaranteed replenishment, reflecting a systematic approach to sustaining the AFU's combat effectiveness. Additionally, the number of units authorized to conduct combat operations under elevated threat conditions has doubled. Discussions also covered the supply of long-range 155 mm artillery ammunition to the Ukrainian army, a crucial element for strengthening its firepower.
