Ukrainian Forces Deny False Claims of Kostiantynivka’s Capture: City Remains Under Kyiv’s Control.
Current Status of Kostiantynivka
According to UATV: Despite recent Russian assertions of its occupation, the city of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast remains firmly under the control of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. Andrii Kovalev, citing data from the 'Dzvin' automated system of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Operational Command Center and the DELTA system, confirmed that the settlement has not fallen to enemy troops.
Operational Developments
On July 3, 2026, Russian forces launched 11 assault operations in this sector but failed to achieve any breakthroughs. Over the past 24 hours, a total of 268 enemy assaults were recorded along the entire front line, including 53 attacks specifically targeting the Sloviansk and Kostiantynivka directions.
In response, Ukraine’s Defense Forces have continued striking enemy positions, successfully targeting:
- nine areas where personnel were concentrated,
- six artillery units,
- five command posts for unmanned aerial vehicles.
These actions highlight the ongoing intense combat in the region and the persistent efforts of Ukrainian troops to push back against Russian aggression.
The situation in Kostiantynivka remains tense, as Ukrainian forces continue to repel enemy assaults. Accurate information about control over this settlement is critical, given its strategic importance to both sides in the conflict. The fierce fighting in this area underscores that the battle for territory is far from over, which could significantly shape future developments in the Donbas.
