Zelensky spoke about how mobilization approaches will change in Ukraine.
Zelensky calls for open discussion of problems in the army
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the importance of open debates regarding issues in the army, including mobilization, reservation, and contract service.
'We should not be afraid to talk about difficult things and problems in our army. Because it is our army. Effective solutions are only possible with honest, open discussions. About mobilization. About reservation. About SZA', - Zelensky stated.
The president stressed the need to address problems rather than remain silent about them: 'The causes need to be clarified and eliminated. Sooner. This should have been done yesterday.'
Zelensky demands that the Ministry of Defense and military command present a new system of contracts for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the public. These contracts will be available to citizens who cannot yet be drafted but want to participate in the defense of the country.
'These contracts will include clear motivational components,' Zelensky added.
The president stated that the state does not plan to lower the drafting age and intends to gradually transition to forming the army using contracts rather than just mobilization.
