“most officials involved in events from a year ago have not faced any consequences”

. Among them, Serhiy Duts was promoted to Major General, and Anton Kravchenko became a Brigadier General and took over the Main Internal Security Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). Adding to the controversy, the prosecutor handling the case of Ruslan Magamedrasulov was awarded an apartment, raising questions about potential conflicts of interest.

Despite these setbacks, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) continues its work. On November 10, NABU exposed large-scale corruption in the energy sector. The agency has also conducted searches related to alleged abuses in fortification construction. Additionally, a list of individuals who accessed information about Operation Midas was made public, further underscoring the need for transparency in anti-corruption efforts.

The current situation surrounding Ukraine's anti-corruption bodies reveals systemic challenges in the fight against corruption. When officials involved in persecuting anti-corruption workers go unpunished, public trust in the justice system erodes, and the effectiveness of anti-corruption initiatives is undermined. At the same time, NABU’s active investigations—especially in the energy sector—show that the battle against corruption continues, though it requires stronger support from state institutions and society to ensure justice prevails.
