Zelensky spoke about new sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council, replacement of tax and financial monitoring leadership.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced the results of the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, which took place on February 4, 2025. He also spoke about the achievements and plans of the state in the socio-economic, financial, and energy sectors.
Zelensky reported that the government is actively implementing support programs for citizens and businesses, such as "eSupport", "eHome" and free meals for schoolchildren. He emphasized that the "eSupport" program has already received over 13 million applications, and approximately 13 billion hryvnias have been paid to Ukrainian families. He also noted that more than 5 million Ukrainians are participating in the "National Cashback" program, and the government is working to expand it.
During the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, the readiness for pension indexing starting March 1, as well as measures to overcome the imbalance in foreign economic activity, were discussed.
Zelensky stressed the importance of creating new opportunities for production development in Ukraine and attracting foreign investments in various industries, just as it is happening in the armaments sector.
One of the key areas has been maintaining order in the financial system. Zelensky noted that the new heads of the tax service and financial monitoring have already identified and terminated shadow financial schemes that have hidden billions of hryvnias. He also discussed the development of the Ukrainian Air Forces and the training of Ukrainian pilots to use French aircraft. The president met with the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi.
The activation of missions of the organization at energy facilities in Ukraine, including at nuclear power plants, as well as the release of Ukrainian hostages in the city of Enerhodar, were considered. Zelensky expressed gratitude for the support of the project for the completion of the Khmelnytskyi NPP nuclear units, which he called a key stage for the country's energy independence. Particular attention was paid to the situation at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP.
Zelensky stressed the importance of regaining control over the station for Ukraine and restoring its normal operation, noting that this would help strengthen Europe and support mutually beneficial cooperation with America.
Negotiations were also held by the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, with American representatives and a conversation between Zelensky and the Prime Minister of Australia, which concerned increasing international pressure on Russia to achieve a just peace. Zelensky expressed his gratitude to everyone who helps Ukraine and makes the country stronger.
