Ukrainian Teams Operating Across the Middle East

According to Novyny.live: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed the deployment of three specialized Ukrainian teams to Middle Eastern countries for knowledge exchange and technical cooperation. According to him, these groups are fully equipped to conduct expert assessments and demonstrate how proper operational systems should function.

“We have sent substantial teams. Each team consists of dozens of people. This is not a case of sending three or four individuals somewhere just to put on a show. Our teams are serious. The three teams that have departed are capable of performing expert evaluations and showing how things ought to work,” the president stated.

The three Ukrainian expert groups have traveled to Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. Each team is composed of 10 members. It is important to note that Ukraine is not at war with Iran, despite Tehran’s threats to strike Ukraine over its assistance to Israel.

Ukraine’s Support to Middle Eastern Nations

Ukraine’s assistance to Middle Eastern countries also involves discussions about the risks of delays in missile supplies for air defense systems. Kyiv is seeking to acquire scarce missiles, particularly for Patriot systems, and plans to finalize a Drone Deal agreement with Washington. Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Ukraine does not need help defending against drones.

Thus, the deployment of Ukrainian specialists to the Middle East is part of a broader strategy to strengthen defense capabilities and foster cooperation with international partners amid current challenges.

This move highlights Ukraine’s growing international engagement, especially in the context of bolstering its own security and collaborating with allies. It also reflects Kyiv’s determination to enhance defensive capacities and secure vital resources for air defense—a critical priority in today’s environment. Successful execution of these initiatives could have significant implications for the broader geopolitical landscape in the region.
