Zelensky on Ukrainian Military Strikes Against Two Russian Refineries

According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that his country’s forces successfully struck two oil refineries inside Russia on June 28, part of a broader effort to degrade Moscow’s military capabilities. The operations targeted facilities that fuel the Russian war machine, marking another phase in Ukraine’s campaign to disrupt enemy logistics and energy supplies.

One of the hit sites was the Slavyansk refinery in Krasnodar Krai, located roughly 300 kilometers from the front lines. A fire broke out at the facility after the attack, indicating significant damage. The second refinery is situated in the Yaroslavl region, approximately 700 kilometers from Ukraine’s border. These strikes are key components of Ukraine’s strategy to weaken Russia’s ability to sustain its war effort.

Zelensky also noted that Ukraine’s Security Service struck the Vtorovo oil pumping station in Russia’s Vladimir region for the second time in a month. This underscores a systematic approach to dismantling critical infrastructure that supports enemy military operations.

By continuing this strategy, Ukrainian forces aim to inflict lasting damage on Russia’s military potential and hasten the path toward peace in the region.

These attacks highlight Ukraine’s focus on hitting vital infrastructure that enables Russia’s military activities. Beyond reducing the enemy’s capabilities, they send a clear message about Ukraine’s resolve to defend its security and territorial integrity. Such actions could also shift the conflict’s dynamics, potentially strengthening international support from Ukraine’s allies.
