Zelensky Introduced Sanctions Due to Corruption in Energy: What We Know.
Sanctions and Support for Frontline Regions
According to inkorr.com: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree to impose sanctions against Timur Mindich and Oleksandr Tsukerman. These individuals are linked to the scandalous films of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, which expose corruption schemes in the energy sector. They face an unpleasant turn — deprivation of state awards of Ukraine, including decorations issued indefinitely.
Moreover, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the allocation of over 936 million UAH for supporting frontline regions, particularly those where combat actions may occur. These funds will be spent on the construction of shelters, as well as the repair of heating, gas supply, and water supply systems.
Visit to Zaporizhzhia Region
President Zelensky visited the Zaporizhzhia region, where he familiarized himself with the positions of military brigades and discussed issues regarding the protection of the region. After that, he held a meeting with the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration Ivan Fedorov to exchange views on the problems of the city and the region.
Audit of State Companies
The government of Ukraine, despite progress made, announced a planned audit of all state companies, including energy companies, due to the scandal surrounding Energoatom. This was stated by the head of the government, Yulia Svyrydenko, emphasizing that corruption is unacceptable in wartime, and checking the companies’ procurement is extremely important.
Tragedy in Russia
Unfortunately, a tragic incident occurred in the Republic of Karelia, Russia, involving a downed Su-30 fighter jet, resulting in the deaths of two crew members. The cause of this event remains unknown.
Therefore, the presidents of Ukraine have taken important steps: imposing sanctions on the figures from the NABU tapes, allocating funds to support frontline regions, a visit to the Zaporizhzhia region, and announcing an audit of state companies. At the same time, a tragedy occurred in neighboring Russia related to the downed fighter jet, which attracted the attention of the media and society.
