Zelensky on security guarantees: the presence of international troops in Ukraine is necessary.

According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the presence of international troops in the country is a necessary condition for ensuring any security guarantees.

The head of state expressed his opinion in response to journalists' questions, confirming that the presence of international troops in Ukraine is important for security guarantees.

“Honestly, yes, I consider the presence of international troops to be real security guarantees, it enhances those security guarantees that partners have already offered us. And this is the confidence of Ukrainian citizens, first of all, both civilians and, by the way, the military, as well as the confidence of Ukrainian businesses and international investors, knowing that Putin will not come again with aggression against Ukraine, against peaceful Ukraine,” the president said.

Zelensky emphasized that the troops of the “coalition of the willing” could only appear in Ukraine after a ceasefire or the end of the war. The treaty for protection on land, at sea, and in the air is already prepared, but its signing and troop deployment will occur exclusively at the moment of ceasefire.

He also reported that Ukraine and the USA had fully agreed on a military bloc of security guarantees, designed for 15 years. The President of Ukraine suggested extending this term to 50 years, to which the American leader promised to “think about it.” The package of guarantees is 90% agreed upon between the USA and Europe and includes an economic development plan. Zelensky emphasized that such long-term commitments will be a historic step and a key condition for a ceasefire and the possible holding of a referendum.

The presence of international troops in Ukraine can provide additional security guarantees in conditions where the country is facing aggression. The signed developments can become an important step in creating a stable foundation for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
