Ukrainians will restore free land: who will receive plots first after the war.
The Ukrainian Land Code guarantees every citizen the right to receive a plot of land for free. However, under martial law, this process is temporarily suspended, but not canceled. Journalists at the Novini.LIVE resource share useful information on how this can be done.
According to the Land Code, citizens can receive a plot of land for various needs. However, under martial law, the mechanism for free land acquisition is temporarily not operational. It is quite logical — it is not advisable to expect consideration of applications during such extraordinary circumstances.
Priority right to receive land
The law provides that citizens who have suffered losses due to the war will have the opportunity to receive a plot of land for free in the first place. In particular, this applies to military personnel and the families of fallen defenders. It is also important to remember that the right to receive a plot is only once for each type of purpose.
'Right now, it is not possible to submit an application for land acquisition in advance. After the martial law is lifted, citizens will be able to apply with the necessary documents,' explains lawyer Lyubov Polishkevych.
In other words, you will have to wait for your turn, but it is worth being prepared for this process in advance.
Preparation for receiving a plot of land
It is worth considering that the procedure for obtaining free land involves submitting an application to local authorities or the State Geocadastre. You also need to choose a plot on the cadastral map and prepare the necessary graphic materials for submission.
'There is no possibility to submit an application in advance to have an advantage in the future. Even if you apply now, documents will not be considered until the martial law is lifted,' notes Polishkevych.
That is, applications submitted immediately for land acquisition will be refused with a recommendation to apply after the restrictions are lifted.
Updates after the restoration of order
After the end of martial law, the procedure for obtaining land for free will be restored. Priority will be given to military personnel and families of the deceased, but every citizen will have the opportunity to exercise their right. For this, it is important to prepare in advance and familiarize yourself with all the details of the process.
Ownership of land is a great responsibility and opportunity. Adhering to legislative norms and requirements is a key element for exercising this right. Therefore, it is better to be prepared for the procedure and follow all established rules.
