In a notable regional highlight, women lead 42% of all new businesses in the Mykolaiv region, underscoring their substantial role in that local economy.
The broader business landscape in Ukraine remains dynamic. In 2025, the country recorded 12,920 business relocations, an 11% increase from the previous year. Over 2,800 companies formally moved their legal addresses out of Odesa region. These shifts often reflect companies adapting to new economic and logistical realities.
Other economic indicators from Odesa show a one-bedroom apartment averaging about $47,500 as of mid-February 2026, while the region also had 530 active legal proceedings concerning unpaid wages, pointing to ongoing labor market challenges.
Overall, women are securing a vital place in Ukrainian business, actively driving the creation of new companies and entrepreneurial activity. This not only contributes to economic development but also highlights their growing influence on the nation's contemporary business landscape.
The rise in female entrepreneurship reflects broader social shifts encouraging women's business participation. This trend has the potential to positively impact national economic stability through diverse innovation and enhanced competitiveness. Monitoring subsequent labor market changes will be crucial, as economic challenges and competition will continue to shape the development of women-led business in Ukraine.
