Changes in the Military Service Register for 17-Year-Olds: The Parliament Supported the Bill.
The Parliament Supported the Bill on the Military Service Register for 17-Year-Olds
In the first reading, the Parliament supported the bill that establishes the regulations for the military service register of 17-year-old citizens of Ukraine. This was reported by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
«Today the Parliament supported an important bill in the first reading, through which citizens of Ukraine will be automatically registered in the military service register upon reaching the age of 17», Umerov stated.
According to the new bill, boys no longer need to contact territorial recruitment centers or undergo a medical examination for registration in the military service register. It will be sufficient to carry out identification in the application «Reserv+», which will automatically generate a military service register document for the boy, explained the Defense Minister.
This bill is another step towards the digitization of the military service register into a convenient digital format. «We are making state services maximally accessible and transparent for Ukrainians», emphasized Umerov.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved important changes to strengthen the military service register and track violations of the law. Now territorial recruitment centers, the security service, intelligence agencies, and the national police will exchange data through an electronic system.
The Ministry of Defense has developed a bill that allows Ukrainians of conscription age to register online in the military service register using electronic identification tools.
