Ukraine to Lift Ban on Arms Exports: What Risks Experts Warn About.
Ukraine may receive significant budget revenues after lifting the ban on the export of Ukrainian weapons. However, MP from the 'Servant of the People' party Bohdan Kytsak warns of the risks of repeating the 'Chinese scenario.' He stated this on the program Morning.LIVE.
According to Kytsak, partners may enter into short-term contracts to study Ukrainian technologies and replicate them for themselves, after which Ukrainian products will become unnecessary. He noted: 'The main risk is that there may be a use of the 'Chinese approach,' where partners study technologies, expand production, and copy them, after which the competitiveness of Ukrainian products decreases.'
To avoid this, it is important for Ukraine to act strategically: to export weapons wisely, not to transfer key technologies, and to create joint productions with guarantees on its territory or in partner countries.
It is also worth noting that France is interested in investing in drone manufacturing in Ukraine, and the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk promised to showcase new developments in Ukrainian weapons this fall.
After lifting the ban on the export of Ukrainian weapons, significant budget revenues are possible. However, there is a threat of losing competitiveness due to the study and copying of technologies by partners. Ukraine should be strategic in arms exports to maintain its position in the arms market.Read also
