AFU slowed down the advance in the Kursk region - ISW.
The Institute for the Study of War reported a delay in the advance of the AFU in the Kursk region. The military is trying to hold and consolidate control over some areas they recently occupied.
According to Russian military bloggers, Ukrainian troops changed the pace of attacks in the Kursk region. The AFU is trying to hold and strengthen control over certain areas.
Other military bloggers stated that Russian troops are gradually stabilizing the situation in the Kursk region. Geolocation footage published on August 28 shows Russian troops operating in the village of Korenevo in the east. This suggests that the AFU may have recently left the area, and Russian troops are restoring some lost positions.
One of the Russian military bloggers stated that Ukrainian troops advanced through the villages of Vetreno, Kremyane, and Sheptukhivka (all located to the east and northeast of Korenevo); east of Nechaev and Cherkasskoe Porochnoe (both northeast of Sudzha); and south of settlements Spalnoe (southeast of Sudzha).
Russian bloggers stated that units of the 810th Marine Brigade (Pacific Fleet, Eastern Military District) cleared Spyrne and regained control of this settlement.
The Russian Ministry of Defense and other Russian sources said that the AFU also attacked east of Korenevo near Olgovka, north of Sudzha near Maloya Loknya, east of Sudzha near Russkaya Konopelka, and southeast of Sudzha near the village of Borki.
At the same Time, another Russian blogger reported on August 28 that Russians repelled attempts by the AFU to cross the international border near Zhuravlevka in the Belgorod region (southwest of Belgorod and north of Kharkiv).
The President of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, the commander of the Chechen special forces "Akhmat" Apti Alaudinov, and other Russian sources acknowledged that Russian conscripts are engaged in combat operations in the Kursk region.
The opposition Russian publication "Mobilization News" reported that Russian command plans to send conscripts from the 290th Missile Regiment (7th Missile Corps of the 27th Missile Army) and the 2187th Airborne Regiment (98th Brigade) to the Kursk region.
