AFU hold back the Russian offensive
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are in defense and are holding back one of the strongest Russian offensives since the beginning of the invasion. This was reported by Commander Alexander Syrskyi during a meeting with a delegation of the armed forces of the Czech Republic headed by Chief of General Staff Karel Řehka.
«Informed the Czech colleagues about the situation on the front line, which continues to remain challenging. The active combat operations ongoing in certain directions require constant replenishment of Ukrainian units' resources. Currently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back one of the most powerful Russian offensives since the beginning of the full-scale invasion», – the statement reads.
Syrskyi emphasized that the Czech Republic is a devoted ally of Ukraine and was the initiator of important initiatives, including the creation of a coalition to develop the capabilities of artillery, armored vehicles, and aviation, as well as a coalition for the air defense/missile defense system.
Ukrainian forces secured a victory north of Sudzha in the Kursk region, capturing an enemy position in Vovchansk. However, Russian occupiers continue to advance east of Kupiansk and west of Kreminna.
The invaders also occupied the village of Yasna Poliana in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region and are moving toward Novodmytrivka, Druzhba, Maksymivka, Novoukrainka, and Terny. This information is provided by the monitoring project DeepState.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in the last week of October 2024, Russia transferred more than 7,000 soldiers from the KPA from the Russian Primorye region to areas near the border with Ukraine. They were armed with 60 mm mortars, AK-12 rifles, and machine guns.
