FutureLab Ukraine Recognizes Gennadiy Kurkin
According to UATV: Ukrainian journalist Gennadiy Kurkin has received an award from the organization FutureLab Ukraine for his documentary work focusing on orphans who survived the Russian occupation during the war. The piece, titled 'Ukrainian orphans who survived the occupation,' shares the stories of children from an orphanage in Stara Basan, located in the Kyiv region. The recognition was presented at an event centered on juvenile prevention.
The award was handed over by Yana Tsymbal and Tatyana Galyuk, representatives of FutureLab Ukraine, a Ukrainian civil society organization dedicated to social justice. Highlighting the significance of Kurkin's efforts, the organization's representatives stated:
“Today we had the honor of presenting a token of gratitude to our friend Gennadiy Kurkin, a journalist who helps the world see the truth about the war in Ukraine.”
In response, Gennadiy Kurkin shared his thoughts on receiving the honor, emphasizing:
“It is a great honor for me to receive this recognition. But above all, this distinction belongs to the courage of Ukrainian children who survived the occupation and found the strength to tell their stories.”
