Zelensky requested a visit to Poland this week: a response from Warsaw is expected

According to ТСН: The Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, reported that Kyiv proposes to conduct a visit of Volodymyr Zelensky to Warsaw this week and awaits a response from the Polish side.

He noted that the Ukrainian side is ready to organize this meeting as soon as possible. It concerns the trip of the President of Ukraine to Poland.

“We are working to ensure that the meeting between the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the President of Poland, Karol Navrocki, takes place as soon as possible; we hope that it will be this year in Warsaw,” stated Bodnar.

The Ambassador also added that Kyiv is coordinating the agenda for the negotiations and is waiting for an official decision from the Polish side.

He specified that among the possible topics for discussion will be security issues, military cooperation, and topics related to the exhumation of the victims of the Volhynian tragedy.

What preceded

It should be recalled that the head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radoslaw Sikorski, noted that demanding honors or thanks from Ukraine during the war would be inappropriate; however, President Volodymyr Zelensky could ask for a visit to the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.

Earlier, the President of Poland Karol Navrocki stated that he expects more gratitude and an equal approach from Ukraine in bilateral relations, inviting Volodymyr Zelensky for an official visit to the Polish capital.

Thus, the visit of Volodymyr Zelensky to Warsaw may become an important event in bilateral relations between Ukraine and Poland. It is obvious that discussing key issues such as security and military cooperation is a priority for both countries, especially in the context of modern challenges.
