Kyiv Region Implements New Power Outage Schedule Starting February 1.
Stabilization Schedules for Power Cuts in the Kyiv Region
According to Novyny.live: Beginning February 1, a new schedule of planned electricity outages has been introduced in the Kyiv region. This measure, implemented by the energy company DTEK, is a direct response to damage sustained by energy infrastructure from recent attacks. These stabilization schedules are designed to manage the limited power supply available to consumers.
New Electricity Outage Timetable
According to the new schedule, consumers in groups 1.1 and 1.2 will be without power:
- from 01:30 to 05:00,
- from 06:00 to 08:30,
- from 12:00 to 19:00, and
- from 22:30 to 24:00.
Groups 2.1 and 2.2 will experience outages:
- from 01:30 to 08:30,
- from 12:00 to 19:00, and
- from 22:30 to 24:00.
For groups 3.1 and 3.2, electricity supply will be suspended:
- from 05:00 to 12:00, and
- from 15:30 to 22:30.
Furthermore, groups 4.1 and 4.2 will be without power:
- from 00:00 to 01:30,
- from 05:00 to 12:00, and
- from 20:30 to 23:00.
Groups 5.1 and 5.2 are scheduled for outages:
- from 00:00 to 01:30,
- from 08:30 to 15:30, and
- from 19:00 to 24:00.
The final groups, 6.1 and 6.2, will have their power cut:
- from 00:00 to 05:00,
- from 08:30 to 15:30, and
- from 19:00 to 22:30.
These measures aim to ensure the stability of the power grid amid severe energy challenges and to guarantee a fair distribution of limited resources among all consumers. Such rolling blackouts are a common utility strategy during periods of generation shortfall or grid damage.
The implementation of these stabilization schedules highlights the serious strain on the region's energy infrastructure, a consequence of external factors impacting the power system.
This decision is part of broader efforts to maintain the reliability of the energy supply, which is critical for daily life and the local economy, especially given rising demand and constrained resources. Consumers are strongly advised to plan their daily activities around this new timetable to minimize the disruption caused by the scheduled power cuts.
