Olha Vasylevska-Smahliuk, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, spoke about the funding sources for the new program of payments to Ukrainians of 1000 hryvnias.
"This idea arose due to the fact that we received unplanned foreign aid to our budget. We have funds that we can distribute among the population... For a family, it will be on average about five thousand hryvnias. This is not much, but not little either," - she noted on the air of the Kyiv24 channel.
According to the deputy, they decided not to allocate a specific category of people for the payments because it would be difficult to administer.
"In general, if I understand the president's idea correctly, this will create internal demand, help the population," added the member of parliament.
At the same time, Vasylevska-Smahliuk noted that she does not know whether it is worth counting on such aid next year.
