1.5 million shells for Ukraine: European allies increase pressure on the Russian Federation.


The Ukrainian initiative for supplying munitions will receive 1.5 million artillery shells in 2025, as stated by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala after the summit in Paris. This volume of supply will be the same as last year.
The initiative was launched last year with funding from several allies. Already in 2024, 500,000 units of 155-mm shells were provided. These shells are suitable for NATO artillery systems that Ukraine has received.
At the summit in Paris, European leaders confirmed their support for Ukraine and agreed to extend sanctions against Russia. They are also discussing how to strengthen these sanctions for enforced negotiations with Russia.
French, British, and German military leaders will travel to Kyiv to plan support for the Ukrainian army. Meetings will also be held to coordinate military assistance and support for Ukraine in its struggles.
As a result of a 'massive shelling' at a public transport station in the city of Kherson, a woman and a man were killed. The railway infrastructure was damaged, and the power supply was disrupted. Ukraine accused Russia of violating obligations regarding energy facilities.
President Zelensky called on the United States to respond to Moscow's violations of obligations and called it a clear infringement. He also noted that a response from the United States is necessary.
The Ukrainian state carrier 'Ukrzaliznytsia' reported that it partially restored online services after a cyberattack. The first 12,000 tickets have already been sold through this service, but consumers are advised to use it only in the absence of other options.
German Eurofighter jets intercepted a Russian Il-20 aircraft that approached Germany over the Baltic Sea. The aircraft was turned back to Russia as it was flying without coordinates.
Zelensky stated that the United States constantly changes the conditions of the mineral agreement, but he is not against this agreement. According to the latest proposal, the United States will have first right of refusal to purchase resources and reimbursement of funds provided to Ukraine before making a profit.
The Netherlands will accelerate the allocation of 3.5 billion euros in support for Ukraine. Part of the funds will be sent even this year.
