She was tortured and thrown into the arena to be torn apart by wild animals, but the animals did not touch her. Euphemia gave her soul to God.

An important significance is the miracle associated with her relics. At the Fourth Ecumenical Council in Chalcedon, her relics bore witness to the truth of Orthodox doctrine.
