A new train station in Chelmsford will open soon

According to The Sun: A gigantic railway station worth £160 million will be opened on October 26, 2025. This is the first new station on the East Coast line in the last 100 years, and it will be a significant improvement for thousands of passengers.

The Beaulieu Park station is being built in the north of the city and is an integral part of a large-scale development project. It will provide frequent trains to Liverpool Street station in London in just 40 minutes.

Conditions for bicycle parking and road infrastructure

Among the amenities for cyclists is a dedicated parking area designed for 500 bicycles. Recently, local advisors reviewed the progress of the construction, which is part of a comprehensive city update that includes the building of new roads and up to 14,000 new residential units.

Of these, over 4,000 have received building permits, and 2,000 have already been completed.

“The advisors were pleased to see the progress in building the station,” they stated.

“The station is almost ready, and we learned about the creation of conditions for local bus access, taxis, as well as two underground bicycle parking areas and parking for 750 cars.”

“This is the first new station on the East Coast line in over 100 years, and it is exciting that our residents will soon be able to take advantage of this new infrastructure.”

The project has been in development for several years, with initial approval received in 2013, and work has been ongoing since 2023. Chelmsford has a strong railway network serving over 15,000 passengers daily and 5.7 million annually.

The development of Beaulieu Park will also help reduce congestion in the city center, while the new northeast bypass will significantly ease access to the station from surrounding towns, such as Braintree.
