This professional holiday was established in 1993 and is intended to honor the workers of the insurance market. These people ensure financial stability and the protection of citizens and enterprises from various risks. The Insurance Market Worker's Day is an occasion to express gratitude for their important work, which helps people feel more protected and confident about the future.

World Kleefstra Syndrome Awareness Day

Today is also the World Kleefstra Syndrome Awareness Day, which is a rare genetic disorder. This day is intended to raise awareness about this disease, which is caused by mutations in the EHMT1 gene and is characterized by developmental delay, intellectual impairment, hypotonia, and distinctive facial features.

People with Kleefstra Syndrome may have problems with speech and behavior, as well as other medical complications.

Feast of the Holy Martyr Sophia and Her Daughters: Faith, Hope, and Love

In the church calendar, September 17 marks the day of remembrance of the holy martyr Sophia and her daughters: Faith, Hope, and Love. These saints lived in the 2nd century in Rome during the reign of Emperor Hadrian. Sophia was a pious widow who raised her daughters in the love of God. Their courageous testimony of faith in Christ attracted the attention of the emperor, and they were subjected to brutal tortures. Sophia supported her daughters in faith, but they all died. After the death of her daughters, Sophia buried them and died three days later near their grave.
