According to UATV: On July 17, Ukrainian forces reported 249 combat engagements across the frontline. Russian troops continue their aggressive assaults on Ukrainian positions, with the highest intensity of fighting concentrated in the Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, and Kostiantynivka sectors. These areas have become focal points of the ongoing conflict, reflecting Moscow's strategic push to gain ground in eastern Ukraine.

During the day, Ukrainian military faced 1 airstrike and 65 artillery shellings in the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions. Additionally, 19 attacks targeted Ukrainian defense positions in the South-Slobozhanskyi sector. In the Kupiansk direction, there were 3 assault attempts, while the Lyman sector saw 10 enemy attacks. The highest activity was recorded in the Sloviansk direction, with 23 attempted assaults. The Kramatorsk sector experienced 1 attack, and the Kostiantynivka direction saw 20 assaults.

Furthermore, the Pokrovsk direction reported 37 assault operations, along with 2 attacks in the Oleksandrivka sector and 17 in the Huliaipole direction. In the Orikhiv sector, there were 10 assault attempts. Notably, no offensive actions occurred in the Dnipro direction, and there were no signs of assault group formations in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
