Border guards of Odesa shot down a Russian kamikaze drone: how it happened.
Downing of the enemy drone
The difference in the performance of Odesa border guards in killing enemy drones is striking. Last night, they managed to shoot down one of Russia's killer drones, which did not reach its target.
This was reported by the Southern Regional Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
During the night attack on August 4, the servicemen of the Odesa Border Detachment noticed an enemy kamikaze drone of the 'shahed-136/131' type. Immediate fire engagement commenced, with the fire machine opening fire on the drone. The UAV exploded from the hits and fell into the sea.
'Thanks to good coordination, professionalism, and dedication, we managed to quickly detect and destroy the enemy drone. The debris of the aircraft fell into the Black Sea,' the border guards reported.
Attack on Odesa on August 4
The attack on Odesa resulted in significant fires that were difficult to extinguish, but thanks to the joint efforts of rescuers and volunteers, they were overcome. The radio market was the most affected area — the fire destroyed numerous electronics and technology stalls. There were also fires in other buildings, such as a dormitory and the Peresyp synagogue.
In the suburbs of Odesa, as a result of Russian enemy attacks, an administrative building, a private house, and a garage burned down, and vehicles were damaged. Fortunately, casualties and injuries were avoided.
The border guards of Odesa continue to demonstrate a high level of skill in shooting down enemy drones, as well as readiness to protect the territory and lives of the civilian population from enemy attacks. However, the escalation of the conflict in eastern Ukraine remains a serious threat to the security of the region.Read also
