The Russian Federation has contacted the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) requesting to act as a mediator in negotiations with Washington regarding American nuclear fuel stored at the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Russia expresses a desire to restart the ZNPP, located near the front line in the Ukrainian war, but faces issues with electricity and water supply for cooling the nuclear reactor. The head of the Russian government on nuclear energy emphasized that the use of American fuel is significant, and the IAEA confirmed its readiness to assist in addressing these issues.
