Drone attack on refinery near Samara: Daily processing of 10,000 tons of crude oil disrupted.
Attack on the Kuybyshev Refinery
According to Espreso.tv: On June 10, the Kuybyshev refinery in Samara was hit by drones. The result was the shutdown of the CDU-4 and CDU-5 units, which together have a capacity of around 10,000 tons (145,000 barrels) of crude oil per day. The refinery belongs to the state corporation Rosneft and is part of the Samara oil processing center.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the attack on the Kuybyshev refinery. The operation against the facility of the Russian state-owned company Rosneft was carried out in conjunction with special operations forces and the military intelligence service HUR. It was a targeted strike on the energy infrastructure of the aggressor.
Increase in drone attacks on refineries
It is noteworthy that the refinery in Sysran has been idle since May 21 due to a drone attack. The facility in Novokuybyshevsk had already ceased operations on April 18 as a result of a drone attack. These incidents highlight the increasing intensity of unmanned attacks on oil processing facilities in the region.
The attack on the Kuybyshev refinery is part of a broader campaign to weaken Russia's strategic infrastructure, particularly in the energy sector. The failure of several refineries in the region could have serious implications for Russia's fuel and oil supply and could impact the country's economic situation. The growing use of drone attacks demonstrates how military tactics are evolving in modern conflict.
